Angela Parish grew up in a small town hearing mixed messages in church. Her Sunday school teachers told the children of God’s love, they talked about how Jesus forgives, loves children unconditionally, and that the Holy Spirit is always with them. Yet, the minister would preach about the evils of humanity, the innate sinful nature of people, and if you did not repent your evil ways, you would burn in Hell.

To counter such a negative message, Angela studied the words of Jesus to simply understand and incorporate their meaning into her life. She would hear adults pray, but not like Jesus taught—that we should pray as if we had already received that for which we pray. No…first, they would tell God how sinful and undeserving they were, and then tenuously ask Him to give them something.

Angela did not feel particularly sinful—surely God understood the temptations of a little girl—and she knew that Jesus forgave sinners and those who sincerely dedicated their lives to God. From a very young age, she felt close to the Holy Spirit, to angels and to Jesus, and never feared God. She wondered why adults did not follow what they taught. She felt safe within her private world, but was often afraid of others’ mean spiritedness in the outer world of school, and later work.

Partly because of religious mixed messages, and partly because of wounds from unkind words she heard from others, Angela suffered from a deep lack of self-esteem. It was difficult to excel among her peers; she would shrink back from opportunities to share her unique talents and abilities. Having only a few close friends, she spent many hours alone with her thoughts and her invisible angels.

When Angela was a young adult, she was fortunate enough to move in with her grandmother while attending a local community college. Her grandmother was a wise woman who taught Angela how to experience God’s unconditional love; how to understand what Jesus meant when He said, “It is done unto you as you believe;” and how to apply it to her life. Her grandmother gently and lovingly guided her in using the teaching that you are to “pray as if you have already received that for which you pray,” and the true meaning of “pride goeth before a fall.”

Angela’s grandmother taught her many spiritual “secrets,” teachings that are not taught in church.  These teachings included using the healing power of the White Light of Christ and how to tap into this Christ Power to follow God’s Word.

Years later, as a church pianist, Angela again would hear most of the parishioners talk of their unworthiness to receive God’s many blessings, and also stay focused on their trials and tribulations and transgressions. It was then that she decided to start teaching the beautiful message of Christ’s Love. She realized that she had to share the lessons she had learned from her beloved grandmother.

All of Angela’s life experiences have led up to her mission of teaching a positive Christianity. She wants all of humanity to understand and know that we must take responsibility for what we have created in this world through the mass consciousness of greed, fear, guilt, covetousness and hatred, and that it is up to Christians and those who seek relationship with God to infuse our mass consciousness with spiritual Love, Light and Peace.
